Humanitarian Action
Caribbean Office of Trade & Industrial Development Limited [OfficeofTrade] firmly believe that humanitarian action is needed to address several of the major problems that contribute to the destabilization, poverty, inequality, injustice and many other adversities caused by human action and non-action that make our world so burdened with unnecessary human challenges and difficulties.
Office of Trade has given a pledge to the International Labour Organization [ILO] of the United Nations to assist in whatever way we can to “End Child Labour in The Cocoa Fields of Africa, South and Latin America”.
We will work with the ILO and United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund [UNICEF], other NGOs, CSOs, Private Sector Organizations, Governments and Individuals to highlight, inform, collaborate with initiatives and translate policies and plans into actions and solutions

THE COCOA FIELDS [A Child’s Cry]
Today I’m back in the cocoa fieldsNo one seems to know my plight
My masters say I’ve done evil deeds
Woe is me! I must make it right.
Who could have done me such great wrong?
I sure would like to know
It must be one in whom hate abound
They’ll reap what err they sow.
I wish I could have been in school
And learn to read and write
They give me such a heavy tool
I work the fields till night.
When I go to bed I sometimes think
Of children far and wide
I just believe I’m doom to sink
OH! This cocoa field of tide.
I hear the sounds of drums at play
Forces join, I feel! I feel!
My spirit soar! Come forth O’day!
Free me from the cocoa field.
Let no one take away my peace
Little children who my burden share
You will be free this curse will cease
Safe forever in God’s loving care.
